TIE starts with an educational topic or debate and develops a show around it. There are a number of companies in the UK that specialise in producing theatre to be performed in schools. Such production often have drama workshops attached and may involve the pupils in the performance itself.
TIE groups specialise in educational work, performances have been designed with particular aspects of the curriculum in mind.
Some will always link the work first to a particular key stage, whilst others will design various projects for different ages. I'm addition a number of companies aim their performance at specialised groups, for example, oily cart children's theatre works with students with multiple learning disabilities.
How does it compare to other Theatre forms?
1. Chldren's Theatre
Children's theatre is not always based on a specific curriculum area and may be part of the work of a non specialised company. It could bring a children's story to life rather having an educational focus on a particular topic and is often aimed at the under-12years of age group. In contrast, TIE companies usually travel to meet their audiences and address a specific topic of interest. They can cater for age groups up to 25 years old.
2. Community Theatre
Community theatre companies and TIE share some of the same common ground, since both target their work at a particular social group and offer workshops in a socially motivated theatre form. Cardboard Citizen works with homeless and ex homeless people, while Clean Break deals with female ex prisoners. However, such companies go further than TIE companies, in that they usually earn out training projects for adults in the particular area they are interested in, for example, helping women get back to work.

Preparation for TIE
Now,no our TIE project, my group was combined with another one to be one. Two different pieces written by two different people are meant to be on piece in which we will combined.
Our piece is about a girl called Stacy who gets abused by her siblings and is too afraid to tell anyone not even her boyfriend. The other groups' piece was about a girl called Imogen, who gets beaten up by her cousin (originally father) and because she doesn't want to tell anyone, she uses the fact that she likes it as an excuse not to tell anyone.
So this moment in time, they have been merge together as one group and it is now only one piece. The two girls getting abused are friends and Stacy sees Imogen's scars and remember hers.

Preparation for TIE
For this project, firstly we have mad a group in which were separate and is now combined. My group has wrote a script about a girl who gets abused by her sister because of jealousy and envy. No one knows whats going on but her boyfriend, Troy knows whats going on demanding an explanation of her situation in which she refuses.
TIE project-domestic Abuse
My next project in which i will be doing I Theatre in Education in which we will be performing with the aim of informing the students about domestic violence, how it can be prevented and who they can call for help. We will be aiming to deliver the message accurately in order for the message to linger in their minds and hope it goes out to those who themselves, are going through domestic abuse whether it be sexually or physically
